FAMILY RISK IN CHILDREN UNDER 4 YEARS OF AGE FROM A VULNERABLE POPULATION IN HUANCAYO

Abstract

Objective: To determine the family risk in children under 4 years of age from a vulnerable population of Huancayo.

Materials and methods: This study had a quantitative approach and its methodological design was descriptive and cross-sectional. The population consisted of 45 families with children under 4 years of age from a vulnerable area of Huancayo. The technique used was the survey and the data collection instrument was the RFT questionnaire 5:33

Results: Regarding the total family risk, threatened families predominated with 49.2% (n=23), followed by high-risk families with 27.6% (n=12) and low-risk families with 23.2%. (n=10). According to its dimensions, in psycho-affective conditions, threatened families predominated with 40.7% (n=27), in health services and practices, threatened families predominated with 45% (n=20), in living and neighborhood conditions, threatened families predominated with 53.3% (n=34), in socioeconomic situation, threatened families predominated with 62.3% (n=26) and in handling minors, threatened families predominated with 78.2% (n =38).

Conclusions: Regarding the total family risk, threatened families predominated, followed by high-risk families and low-risk families. According to its dimensions, in psycho-affective conditions, health services and practices, living and neighborhood conditions and socioeconomic situation, threatened families predominated.
