Health-related quality of life in hypertensive patients who attend a polyclinic located in Los Olivos

Abstract

Objective: To determine the health-related quality of life in hypertensive patients who attend a polyclinic located in Los Olivos. Materials and methods: It has a quantitative approach with a descriptive-transversal methodological design. The population consisted of 138 patients. The data collection technique was carried out by means of a survey and the instrument used was the SF-36, comprised of 36 items and 8 dimensions. Results: Regarding health-related quality of life, the high level was more prevalent with 42.75% (n = 59). In relation to the dimensions, in physical function the very high level predominated with 33.33% (n = 46), in role in functioning / physical the very high level with 45.65% (n = 63), in pain the level very high with 55.8% (n = 77), in general health the average level with 51.45% (n = 71), in energy / fatigue the average level with 44.93% (n = 62), depending on social the high level with 37.68% (n = 52), in emotional function the very high level with 47.83% (n = 66), in emotional well-being the high level with 43.48% (n = 60) and instead of health the high level with 43.48% (n = 60). Conclusions: Regarding the quality of life related to health, the high level was more frequent. In relation to dimensions, physical function, the role in functioning / physical and pain, the very high level predominated, in social function, emotional well-being and health change the high level predominated, in general health and energy / fatigue the average level predominated.
