QUALITY OF LIFE IN PEOPLE WITH TYPE 2 DIABETES WHO ATTEND A PRIMARY CARE HEALTH ESTABLISHMENT IN COMAS

Abstract

Objective: To determine the quality of life of people with type 2 diabetes who attend a primary care health facility in Comas.

Materials and methods: The present study had a quantitative approach and its methodological design was descriptive and cross-sectional. The sample consisted of 83 people with type 2 diabetes from a primary care facility located in Comas. The technique used was the survey and the data collection instrument was the SF-36 questionnaire.

Results: Regarding quality of life, the high level predominated with 54.2% (n=45), followed by the very high level with 25.3% (n=21), the average level with 12% (n=10) and low level with 8.4% (n=7). According to its dimensions, in physical function the very high level predominated with 45.8% (n=38), in physical role the very high level predominated with 74.7% (n=62), in bodily pain the very high level predominated with 72.3% (n=60), in general health the average level predominated with 59% (n=49), in vitality the high level predominated with 37.3% (n=31), in social function the high level predominated with 45.8% (n=38), in emotional role a very high level predominated with 57.8% (n=48), in mental health a high level predominated with 63.9% (n=53) and in transition in health predominated the high level with 57.8% (n=48).

Conclusions: Regarding the CV, the high level predominated, followed by the very high level, average level and low level.
