FEAR OF COVID-19 IN NURSING STAFF OF THE INTENSIVE CARE UNIT OF A HOSPITAL ESTABLISHMENT IN LIMA

Objective: To determine the fear of COVID-19 in nursing staff of the intensive care unit of a hospital establishment in Lima.
Materials and methods: This study had a quantitative approach, and its methodological design was descriptive-cross-sectional. The population consisted of 47 health personnel. The technique used was the survey and the data collection instrument was the scale of fear of COVID-19 (FCV-19), which is structured by 7 reagents and 2 dimensions.
Results: Regarding fear of COVID-19, those with a medium effect with 34% (n=16) predominated, followed by a large medium effect with 31.9% (n=15), small effect with 25.5% (n=12) and large effect with 8.5% (n=4). According to their dimensions, in emotional reactions, a medium effect with 29.8% (n=14) predominated, followed by a large medium effect with 25.5% (n=12), a small effect with 25.5% (n=12). =12) and large effect with 19.1% (n=9) and in somatic manifestations, those with a medium effect with 53.2% (n=25) predominated, followed by a small effect with 38.3% (n=25). =18) and large effect with 8.5% (n=4).
Conclusions: Regarding fear of COVID-19, those with a medium effect predominated, followed by a large medium effect, small effect and large effect According to its dimensions, in emotional reactions, those with a medium effect predominated, followed by a large medium effect, small effect and large effect and in somatic manifestations, those with a medium effect predominated, followed by a small effect and large effect.
