Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the digital competencies in the workplace of Peruvian family and community specialist physicians, 2023. Method: This study was descriptive, observational and cross-sectional in design. A total of 155 Peruvian family and community specialist physicians were included. Data collection was conducted through a survey using a questionnaire consisting of 36 items grouped into 6 dimensions. The questionnaire was validated, and its reliability was assessed. For data analysis, absolute (n) and relative (%) frequencies were used for qualitative variables, and the median and interquartile range were calculated for quantitative variables. Results: 96,1% of the Peruvian specialist physicians were between 30 and 59 years old, 56,1% were women, and 81,3% had a specialty. Of the participants, 1,3% had not acquired digital competencies, 27,7% had poorly developed digital competencies, 45.8% were in an area needing improvement, and 25,2% had acquired digital competencies. Most dimensions were found to be in the area of improvement, with digital health literacy (49,7%), effective management of scientific-health information (49,0%), health communication 2,0 (47,1%), creation of digital scientific-health content, and data analysis and management (43,9%) being the most notable. Conclusion: The level of digital competencies among Peruvian family and community specialist physicians in 2023 was predominantly in an area requiring improvement.
