Objective: To determine the fear of COVID-19 in people from a risk-sensitive community located in Comas. Materials and methods: This study has a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental, descriptive-cross-sectional methodological design. The population consisted of 148 participants. The data collection technique was carried out through a survey and the instrument used to measure the variable was the FCV-19S, which is structured in seven elements and grouped in two dimensions, which allows evaluating the fears of COVID-19 among the population general. Results: Regarding age, the minimum was 19 years and the maximum 69 years, the mean being 40.36 years. In relation to sex, the female predominated with 59.5% (n = 88), followed by the male with 40.5% (n = 60). Regarding the fear of COVID-19, the medium level predominated with 60.1% (n = 89), followed by the low level with 23.6% (n = 35) and high with 16.2% (n = 24). Regarding the dimensions, in reactions to emotional fear, the medium level predominated with 62.2% (n = 92), followed by the low level with 23.6% (n = 35) and the high level with 14.2% (n = 21); in somatic expressions of fear, the medium level predominated with 56.1% (n = 83), followed by the low level with 27.7% (n = 41) and high with 16.2% (n = 24). Conclusions: Regarding the fear of COVID-19, the medium level predominated, followed by the low and high level. In relation to its dimensions, the medium level predominated in all, followed by the low and high level.
